Cloth Baby
Bookshelf Sling
This cloth sling was such a cute way to decorate our child's nursery.  I have seen these made several different ways, but I made this small and large set with my own flare!  These slings are great for lightweight baby books that children can reach by themselves.

What You Need:
22 inches of cute fabric for small sling
42 inches of same fabric for large sling
(I used the width of the bolt of fabric - about 43 inches)
4 expandable curtain rods
4 double curtain rod brackets
The pattern is the same for each of the slings.
  1. First fold the fabric in half inside out and sew the long end and both sides, leaving one inch unsewn on one of the sides.
  2. Pull the patterned side of the fabric through the one inch hole left open on the side.
  3. Sew the side hole closed.
  4. Fold top and bottom sides of fabric over an inch and sew.
Measure and hang the brackets so that they are level and slide the curtain rods through the pocket of fabric that was made on the top and bottom by folding the fabric over an inch and sewing.  Slide rods into the brackets and fill with your child's favorite books!
