Mane Highlights for Friday February 28, 2014

Hear Me Roar!: And so we come to the end of February, wow!  My week has included constantly cleaning the kitchen floor under my toddler, who discovered the hidden art of independent food fights.  I guess I should be lucky when it goes on the floor, as we have also had a couple of episodes of the food fight recipient being me. (# Whose Child Is This?)

On the positive side of discoveries, I have learned that parchment paper is the most amazing invention and I have no idea why it took me this long to realize its true purpose.  No more greasing pans, cleaning pans, chiseling the coveted edges of brownies, and slicing off burnt bottoms.  Culinary genius!

The reflection this week explores regret through the eyes of a wayward man who became a great saint.  St. Augustine teaches us a valuable lesson as he looks back upon his life, and the long pursuit God had with him.

        Dynamic Quote: In His Image
“God gave me a mother who showed me nothing in this material world is worthy of our ambition.  God Gave me a woman.  She showed me that loving means renouncing oneself.  God gave me a son; I started to believe he was created in my image, and God took him away from me to show me he was created in His image.”
~Augustine

I leave you with this until next week: Restless Heart
A film based on the life of St. Augustine - his brilliance, struggle, and conversion.
