Simple Snoopy Costume

Dressing up our little ones can sometimes be more fun for parents than for the ones getting wrangled into the costumes.  Bulky, cumbersome, and overheated costumes can cause a fun occasion such as Halloween to be itchy, hot, and miserable.

For this reason I decided to put together a simple and cute costume of one of the most beloved characters of all time that would feel like an ordinary outfit when worn.  This Snoopy costume can be constructed by clothes that your child may already own or that can be cheaply acquired.

What You Need

  • White Turtleneck
  • White Pants
  • White Socks
  • Red Ribbon
  • White Hat
  • Black fuzzy material (for ears and spot)
  • With triangle of fabric (for tail)

I purchased a black fuzzy hat at the dollar store that I cut up to make the ears and the black spot on Snoopy's back.  The edges either need to be sewn or sealed with glue in order to stop the fraying.
Attach the two black ears to either side of the white hat.
Attach the black spot to the back of the white turtleneck.
The red ribbon for Snoopy's collar can be wrapped around the turtleneck and attached with a few stitches or a small safety pin in the back.
Snoopy has a small pointy tail which is easy to make by sewing a white triangular piece of stiff fabric and attaching it along the seam at the back of the pants.

Here is the completed Snoopy costume, with a front and back view.  The last finishing touch is to put black face paint/makeup on your little Snoopy's nose.  Your child will look adorable while at the same time wearing ordinary clothing that are comfortable.
