Baptism Gift - 7 Gifts of Holy Spirit

No one gives better baptism gifts then the Holy Spirit (Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Knowledge, Fortitude, Piety, Fear of the Lord!)  There is certainly no competing with that.

However, I wanted to make something special for my niece's baptism beyond the standard picture frame.  I decided to do something that was personalized, incorporating my niece's name with the spiritual gifts she was receiving.

What You Need

  • White block letters that can either stand on their own or be hung
  • Sponge (for sponge painting)
  • Acrylic Paint (two colors)
  • Fine Brush (for painting words)
  • Thin Ribbons and Trim
  • Bling (in the form of flowers, stick-on pearls, etc for girls and white doves or baptismal stickers for boys)
  • Hot Glue Gun

I chose the colors purple and gold for the letters of my niece's name; Peyton.
Separate every other letter and sponge paint the white letters.
Make sure to leave the sides white so that you have a 3-D trim (it may be helpful to tape the sides before sponging so that you don't get paint on the sides.)
I then painted the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit on the letters of her name (purple paint on the gold letters and white paint on the purple letters.)
Make sure to put the letters back together before adding the words (I had to put two on the "O" because her name only has six letters.)
Next it's time to add the bling!  Since I was making a gift for a girl, I used pretty lace and glitter fabric trim, hot gluing it in different spots on the letters.
I then added paper flowers and placed stick-on pears in the center of each (getting a little more creative with the letter "T".
Here is the final product and a very meaningful baptism present to remind the little one of the spiritual gifts they received on their special baptismal day!
