Mane Highlights for Friday, May 30, 2014

Hear Me Roar!: WHY must little boys insist on doing things like putting foreign objects in places they do not belong - namely body parts???  My son's first E.R. visit will go down in the books (and you better believe in his scrapbook) as "rock stuck in nose."

Really?  ROCK STUCK IN NOSE.  I had to say this at the Urgent Care and then the two E.R.'s that we had to go to in order to get the darn thing out.  I almost think that the staff just wanted to hear me say it as they asked me to repeat it for other medical personnel.  At the first Urgent Care I mumbled it under my breath and the lady behind the counter gave me a very unimpressed look as she shrewdly asked me to repeat myself.  I will say that all of those miserable saps in the waiting room got a good laugh out of it, so at least there is that.  My son's delinquency brought a little sunshine to one waiting room.

Reflection of the Week: The Benefits of Better Coffee

Drinking one to two cups of coffee a day (minus nasty fake stuff like creamer and cancer-causing pretend sugar) has proven to protect against Parkinson's, type 2 diabetes, liver disease and certain cancers.

So, is it what's in the cup that matters, or will any caffeine bean do?

I leave you with this until next week: Blog News!

I am super excited to announce that the L.O.D. blog is finally moving up to a fancy .com address!  Hopefully, the site will be up and running by next week for all the same awesomeness in a much more awesome way.
