Mane Highlights for Friday March 7, 2014

Hear Me Roar!: As we enter into the liturgical season of Lent, I decided to give some Lenten food for thought.  

I did a bit of research for the reflection piece in order to answer some questions on the connections between the celebrations of Mardi Gras and Lent.  In turn I learned a few things myself, particularly about the delicacy known as King Cake. 

The second post gives encouragement in embracing Lent and receiving the gifts waiting for us in the desert.

Chic of the Week: Keep Love in Lent

One year during our childhood, my brother decided to give up "Lent" for Lent.  I remember thinking he was not only witty but genius as well.  Why hadn't I thought of that?  There I was agonizing over something difficult to give up and he had alleviated himself of the whole entire problem. Continue
