Mane Highlights for Friday January 17, 2014

Hear Me Roar!: With only days to go to projected due date, I got hit with a virus of sorts that kept me in bed for the past two days.  I spent a good amount of the time praying that baby would hang on until I was fully recovered and got my strength back.  Thankfully, today I have turned a corner and begun the recovery process.

Reflection of the Week: March for Life - Largest Civil Rights Event

Gallery Piece of the Week: Genesis
I decided to feature this incredible animated video titled Genesis by Ramos David as the featured piece of the week.  The video shows stunning graphics of a female body's amazing production of human life from conception to birth.  The artist ends the video with the words "au final, deux ĂȘtres... Ne font plus qu'un..." roughly translated; in the end, two beings no longer.

Dynamic Quote: Care of Human Life

The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government."
-Thomas Jefferson

I leave you with this until next week:
It's a crazy sensation to feel or even see something like this during pregnancy!  I love how this picture adds color to the foot of an otherwise black-and-white image to add to the impression.
Roughly 8 week old embryo in gestational sac, formed and recognizable as a human being.
