Hear Me Roar!: I am excited to announce that I am now a monthly contributor to CatholicMom.com!  This great online forum is filled with inspiring articles and guides for the spiritual journey.  If you have been following my blog, you may recognize my first column on CatholicMom: http://catholicmom.com/2013/11/18/is-the-bar-to-heaven-really-that-low/.  The article titled, "Is the Bar to Heaven Really that Low?" was first posted on the LOD blog.  

The reflection this week takes a look at revenge by focusing on a beloved childhood movie character from The Princess Bride.  I found it fascinating to hear from the actor who played Inigo Montoya as he reflects on his character and reveals what he has learned from that character now that he is twenty years down the road of life.  

We are fortunate to have such great medical care in this country and so many interventions at our fingertips.  However, with vaccines for every single cold, infection, and illness, should we become more vigilant before getting in line?  I take a look this week at the flu shot - facts, misnomers, and some helpful ways to make the best choice for your family.

Each year as the holiday season comes upon us, marketers try to get to our purse through our heart.  From Hallmark to Kay Jewelers and everything in between I find myself getting choked up at what can only be described as 30 second Lifetime movies!  The winner this year so far goes out to - Kohl's Forever Young commercial.
