Mane Highlights for Friday October 25, 2013

Hear Me Roar!: For those of you who subscribe to my posts via email, you may have noticed that the blog went a little wacky this week and sent out some old posts.  Hopefully this is all ironed out now!

The reflection goes deep this week as I pondered the idea of being my brother's keeper, bringing in some help from the Bible, Jodi Picoult, and Matt Maher.  Hang on as you sing along and explore this issue with me and pose the question in your own spiritual life.

I have been re-inspired by a free online health conference that I listened to this week.  Each night I tuned in to hear the amazing nutritionists who confirmed some of what I knew, taught me many things I did not, and overall inspired me to continue down the path of eating "real food."  I share some of this info in the Chic of the Week post for those who need some healthy inspiration.

        Reflection of the Week: Hold Us Together

The question, "Am I my brother's keeper?" was originally posed by Cain to God in Genesis 4:9 when God asked, "Where is your brother Abel?"  This "question" which Cain choose as a response to God was of course a disguise for his sin, for Cain clearly knew what happened to his brother.  Continue

Delicious: Chocolate Pumpkin Pecan Macaroons

Raw Chocolate Pumpkin Pecan Macaroons

Serves: 12
Instructions
  1. Combine your coconut, pecan flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon and salt in a bowl and mix well
  2. Add in your pumpkin, honey, coconut oil, and vanilla and stir well until all ingredients have been evenly incorporated
  3. Use a medium cookie scoop or tablespoon and scoop rounded balls onto a plate or cookie sheet
  4. Place in the refrigerator for at least an hour to solidify
  5. Store in the freezer or refrigerator and serve cold
