Hear Me Roar!: In the attempt to be a well-rounded person who is aware of what is going on in the world around me and particularly my own country, I do my best to stay on top of current events. This becomes particularly harder the busier my life becomes and especially the further my reality is distanced from what is going on outside of my own front door between nap times, meal times, and play times.
I decided to begin a "Mommy Briefing" of current events, particularly when there is great political unrest and even talk of war on the horizons. In the spirit of analyzing the principles of "just war," this week I have chosen to do a briefing on the Syria conflict and potential U.S. involvement.
Reflection of the Week: The Syrian Summary
There is a great deal of confusion over what the President is proposing regarding U.S. aerial attacks in Syria and whether this is a just and ethical move on the part of our country. There is also confusion as to what led up to this positioned attack and what the possible ramifications could be for our country and the Middle East. Continue
In the name of organization and in order to add some more sanity to one more part of my life, I sorted and pitched anything that I didn't remember I had or knew I would never use. Galileo is famously quoted for saying that "Mathematics is the language with which God has written the universe." If you had told me this several years ago, I would have concluded that God and I would never be able to communicate and that understanding His plan for creation would be like reading a blueprint written in another language.
