Reflection of the Week: Serving Breakfast, Lunch, and Hugs
Tim Harris is the first person with Down syndrome to own his own restaurant.  Tim has desired to fulfill his dream of opening the "world's friendliest restaurant" since he was fourteen years old, and now as an adult he has made it happen.  His enthusiasm and positive energy is contagious to all who enter the doors of Tim's place.

Project of the Week: Waterproof Cloth Pull-Ups

If you have a little one who is rolling, crawling, or walking, you have experienced the difficulty of changing a diaper under those conditions!  Whether you are Velcro-ing, snapping, or any other attaching that takes more than a seconds time, chances are you have gotten frustrated, wet, or worse.

These waterproof cloth pull-ups can be used for any age until potty training is complete.  They can be used with cloth inserts for babies or by adding a cotton lining for potty trainers.

Gallery Piece of the Week: Fox Glacier
These icy blue walls of New Zealand's Fox Glacier were captured during a breathtaking hike atop the massive glacier.  The walls of ice offer a very different ambiance to the normal day hike.

“Some history-making is intentional; much of it is accidental. People make history when they scale a mountain, ignite a bomb, or refuse to move to the back of the bus. But they also make history by keeping diaries, writing letters, or embroidering initials on linen sheets. History is a conversation and sometimes a shouting match between present and past, though often the voices we most want to hear are barely audible. People make history by passing on gossip, saving old records, and by naming rivers, mountains, and children. Some people leave only their bones, though bones too make a history when someone notices.”

New Find, New Friend, New Trend: Soap-Making Nuns
These Seignadou soaps, lotions, candles, sprays, and chap sticks are a favorite of mine.  Made right in Summit, NJ by Dominican Nuns, they are naturally made with the best ingredients and smell wonderful!  The "Soap-Making Nuns" were featured on a Fox Morning News show and have continued to gain support.

Dynamic Quote: Positive Influence at Home

When it comes to developing character strength, inner security and unique personal and interpersonal talents and skills in a child, no institution can or ever will compare with, or effectively substitute for, the home's potential for positive influence.
-Stephen Covey

I leave you with this until next week: Useless Fact
