The 2012 romantic comedy short film was produced by Walt Disney Animation Studies and won an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
The sweet saga follows two unsuspecting people; George and Meg, who are waiting on a metro platform to begin their commute to work. The fleeting exchange between them seems to be the only momentary excitement of the day and a chance encounter that is unlikely to occur again. George has only a lipstick stained paper to remind him of the mysterious woman on the metro stop.
To George's surprise, he notices Meg for the first time working in the office building across from his, and spends the rest of the day trying to get her attention. George is unsuccessful and frustrated, but once again the lipstick stained paper that caused the pair to notice one another in the first place acts as the hand of fate to bring them together once again.
This beautifully innocent saga stirs our own hearts, which seem to naturally root for the hand of fate and the impossible. The lonely underdog George seems to catch a break and find his chance at happiness in the end.
