It's All About Perspective (Seussical Style)

Good friends of ours went to Ireland for ten days and left their 17 month old in our care!  We were happy to help and while he is a sweet boy, that still made two boys UNDER the age of two. That meant that everything the other was playing with might as well have been the holy grail. When one woke up, he was like a rooster signaling the start of the very early day to the other.  When one cried, the other cried.... just out of solidarity of course. Occasionally the double wail took on American Idol tendencies as each clung to their diva trophies trying to one-up the other; including varying octaves,  great projection, stage presence, and even a yoddle for good measure and diversity.

Now I know some mothers do this every day, and I commend them. Perspective continues to expand our small scope and challenges build our character. The ten days is up and today was strangely empty with one. It is funny how I thought I couldn't get anything done before
Here is my 10-day Seussical:

Two boys, two boys, oh me oh my. The younger one sits up wobbling from side to side.  The older one offers greetings to all who pass by. They're up the stairs in a moment, and into the trash. One like a turtle and the other a flash. More of this and less of that. Put on your jacket and take off your hat. The two were greatly entertained as I went through my day playing charades with extravagant motions. We laughed and we cried and copiously swept the floor with devotion. I followed little footsteps wherever they abide,  through a neighbors backyard and down a green playground slide. Alas two parents home-bound from the great Emerald Isle. Anxious to claim their greatest traveling token. Perspective you see is gained quite often in words unspoken!
